Honors US History

Course Description

Welcome to Honors U.S. History! In this course, eighth-grade students will explore the ideas, issues, and events from the framing of the Constitution up to the Industrial Revolution. The primary focus is to help you understand the major themes in U.S. history, analyze historical evidence, and express your understanding through writing. Studying U.S. history will deepen your knowledge of our country's development and enhance your critical thinking skills. This class is designed for high levels of interaction between students and the teacher. I encourage weekly participation through group activities, interactive notebooks, and creative work assignments. History doesn't have to be boring; it can be enjoyable and beneficial to everyday life. We will cover the extensive CA State Content Standards for this course and help you gain and practice Common Core Skills. Please do your best to keep up and ask for help as needed!
